Weightless wins the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2025

Pier Currà Architettura is participating in the BIG Architecture 2025 festival, taking place on May 22–23 in Portorož–Piran (Slovenia), on the occasion of the BIG SEE Architecture Awards ceremony.

The project Weightless, built in Cesenatico, has been selected among the winners in the “Infrastructure” category.

The cycle-and-pedestrian footbridge, erected on the foundations of an existing bridge, reinterprets the Adriatic’s maritime identity in a contemporary key. Drawing on elements typical of the Romagna coastline—such as trabocchi (traditional fishing platforms) and early 20th-century seaside architecture—the project creates an essential, open space designed to enhance visual continuity between the city and the sea. Through a measured architectural language and a lightweight structural system, Weightless seeks to establish a new balance among function, landscape, and collective memory.

Participation in the BIG Architecture festival offers the studio an opportunity for international dialogue and for sharing its design approach.
