MIR Net Zero Vision 2047: Pier Currà Architettura in Mangalore to Discuss Conscious Design
Pier Currà Architettura took part in MIR Net Zero Vision 2047 in Mangalore (India), a summit focused on the transition toward net-zero buildings and systems. Pier Nicola Currà contributed a keynote on Conscious Design, within an Italy–India dialogue connecting energy, materials, and architecture.
An Italy–India summit to accelerate Net Zero
Hosted in Mangalore at the TMA Pai Convention Centre, MIR Net Zero Vision 2047 brought together international stakeholders to explore strategies for decarbonisation and to advance practical pathways toward climate neutrality. The summit positions itself as a platform connecting institutions, companies and innovators; a space where renewable energy, bio-construction, digitalisation, and sustainable mobility converge into a shared, action-oriented vision.
“Changing the future requires more than just ideas; it requires the expertise…”
Pier Currà Architettura’s contribution: Conscious Design in an age of polycrisis
As part of the programme, Pier Nicola Currà (Pier Currà Architettura) delivered a talk titled: “Conscious Design: Navigating Architectural Beauty in the Age of Global Polycrisis.”
The topic resonates with a key question for contemporary practice: how to hold together beauty, responsibility, and complexity when architecture must respond to overlapping climate, energy, and social crises. The summit reinforced the urgency of an approach that does not reduce Net Zero to energy performance alone, but frames it as an integrated ecosystem: building, materials, operations, maintenance, governance and territorial impact.

A network that enables projects: PCA within the energy–architecture dialogue
PCA’s participation sits within a broader trajectory of collaboration with MIR Group, an Italian organisation active in regeneration and energy transition, currently building an operational network between Italy and India. For Pier Currà Architettura, this context represents a concrete opportunity: not only an occasion for discussion, but a partnership-driven environment where architecture becomes part of an extended value chain: from energy to materials, from vision to delivery.

From summit to project: “Armonia Italiana – Maravanthe Beach”
The event also featured the presentation of Armonia Italiana – Maravanthe Beach, a luxury resort project by Pier Currà Architettura on the Karnataka coast, near Mangalore. The project is an emblematic case study: high-end hospitality, climate awareness, and tropical landscape can converge into one coherent vision aligned with the themes of Net Zero and environmental responsibility.
A field observation: India is accelerating
The context of the summit is particularly meaningful: in India, Net Zero is increasingly moving from aspiration to concrete agenda. Alongside the summit discussions, institutional messages highlighted the need to extend Net Zero targets across all sectors: from industry to buildings and campuses.
